Headscape Counselling

Feeling a bit stuck? Need to talk to someone who isn’t a family member or a friend? I can offer you a safe and comfortable space to explore your inner world. By nurturing a trusting and non-judgmental relationship, we can together, make sense of your thoughts and feelings.

I mainly work in a Person-centered way. What this means is that we work with what you bring every week. I do not set an agenda. My belief is that you are the expert in your own life. It is my job to bare witness to your story and support you in a respectful, ethical and non judgmental way.

When you arrive for an initial session, we will explore what your goals might be and how we can work together towards meeting those needs. An initial session is paramount in order to ‘get a feel’ for one another and for you to be sure that I’m the right person for you. Doing the work is anchored by a secure working relationship!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries. When you leave a phone message, please specify whether I can phone you after hours, during business hours and whether I can leave a message on your phone. This is all to protect your confidentiality.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Find out more about Wrinkle Relaxing Injections

What is Botox?

Botox is a drug made from a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum toxin. It is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically to remove wrinkles by temporarily preventing the contraction of a muscle.

Is Botox safe?

Yes! At our Medispa we use only the highest quality brands that are completely safe and are tested and trusted by top practitioners. Our medical team are fully qualified and highly experienced so you can rest assured that you’re in safe hands; we guarantee natural looking results and a stress free clinical experience.

How long does Botox last?

Botox is a non-surgical procedure and as such the results are temporary. After your treatment you’ll be able to go about your day without disruption; many of our clients have this treatment in their lunch hour and return to work! The results will start to show within 48 hours and will continue to improve for up to 14 days. The overall effect will last for anything up to 5 or 6 months. For a longer lasting effect we recommend top up treatment every 4 months.

How does Botox work?

Botox is a series of tiny injections into the muscles of the face in areas where wrinkles form. The most common areas are the crow’s feet zone at the side of your eyes, the frown lines that appear on your brow and the fine lines that can form around your lips. The injections cause a temporary paralysis of the muscles by blocking the nerve receptors that prompt facial expressions; allowing the muscles to fully relax and giving the appearance of smoother, younger skin.

Paralysis sounds scary.
It does, but it isn’t. Our practitioners are experienced in using only the tiny amounts of Botox required to smooth out the wrinkles without affecting your ability to form expressions. You will still be able to communicate a full range of facial expressions and you’ll look completely natural. In fact, we’re confident that no one will even suspect you’ve had treatment; they’ll just compliment you on how good you look and you’ll feel great!

What are the side effects of Botox?

Most clients do not suffer from any side effects. However, it is important to go through your consent form and be aware of side effects even if they are highly unlikely. These may include headaches, small localised bruising, swelling, skin redness, local muscle weakness.
Post treatment care advice

In order for your treatment to be as effective as possible, it is important that you adhere to these post care instructions.
Ensure that your hands are clean post injection. You can carry on with your normal facial routine the evening after your Botox treatment.
It is recommended that your do not apply make up on the day of your treatment but can the following day onwards.

What does the treatment involve?

The treatment involves a series of tiny injections in to the areas which you wish to be treated. The procedure is relatively pain free. Botox comes in a form of a vial in powder form. It is then diluted by adding a saline solution. The nurse then decides on dosages suitable.

What are the common areas to be treated with Botox?

The most common areas are the frown, forehead and crow’s feet. Other areas include bunny lines, dimply chin, gummy smile and platysmal bands in the neck.
